What is discipling? Where should discipling take place? How should we disciple? These are all important questions that church leaders must answer if they seek to disciple their congregations and if they desire to create a culture of discipleship in the body.  The Great Commission is a command to go and make disciples, so these questions cannot just be brushed aside. Helping others to follow Jesus is not only a task for elders. The whole church plays a role in discipleship and each member needs to understand that Scripture tells us to “consider how to stir up one another to love and good works” (Heb. 10:24).

To disciple well we must intentionally meet and spend time with others with the purpose of seeing them grow in their spiritual maturity. This demands that we invest time and effort into relationships. For elders this means that they must be always seeking out men that they may be able to raise up as leaders in the church. Discipleship is an active process and church leaders and members will benefit greatly from this helpful book on such a crucial topic.
