Book Summary of Christ's Call to Reform the Church by John MacArthur

The church, on this side of heaven, will always be in need of reform. Christ reforms His church through His word and repentance. Revelation 2 and 3 are seven letters from Christ to His church. In the majority of them, He calls out the church for the ways in which they have been unfaithful and have given into the culture around them.

The church today is in a similar situation as these seven churches were. Many churches have given into an unhealthy pragmatism in order to reach people. The assumption is that in order to reach the world the church must become like the world. The church must give up its uniqueness in order to see people come to Jesus. The church is in need of reformation. The call of Christ to the seven churches of Revelation is just as important and relevant today as it was in the first century.

Christ is calling the church to reform, and in His grace He gave us His word to know the path we must follow.
