While this task can seem daunting, it is not impossible. By following five steps, the Bible teacher can make great strides in accomplishing their most important goal: seeing the life-changing power of God's Word work in the lives of their students. These five steps are not necessarily easy, and the creative Bible teacher likely will spend a lot of time mastering each one, but the effort is worth it.

The late Lawrence O. Richards was a prominent writer on educational issues in the evangelical world. Richards received a BA from the University of Michigan and a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. He was an Assistant Professor of Christian Education in Wheaton College for a number of years while he completed his PhD at nearby Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1972. He authored The Smart Guide to the Bible, The Full Armor of God and many other works.
Gary J. Bredfeldt is the director of the Doctor of Education in Christian Leadership program at Liberty University. He received his BA from Denver Baptist Bible College, an MA from Denver Seminary, and a PhD from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is the co-author of Great Leader, Great Teacher and Caring for Souls.
