Author: David B. Calhoun |
At times, it is important to not merely read about these men and their work, but rather to actually read their work first hand. In Their Own Words provides the reader the opportunity to do just this. As we do, we find that these were men like us. They had sins to confess, fears to conquer, and controversies to battle, and they stood in need of the grace of God found in Christ Jesus. Still, God used Luther, Calvin, Knox, and Bunyan in a mighty way to further His Kingdom. Reading these words of old will strengthen and embolden believers to press on in our own day to continue to lift high the banner of Christ for the glory of His name. |

Overview:
Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, and John Bunyan are legends in Christian history. In some ways, perhaps even many ways, conservative Christianity in the 21st century owes a great deal to the work and faithfulness of these men from the 16th and 17th centuries.
