Live Like a Narnian
by Joe Rigney | Book Summary
Author: Joe Rigney |
By reading Narnian stories, breathing Narnian air, and seeking to live like Narnians, renewal occurs through a distinctly different form of Christian discipleship. "The challenges we face are Narnian challenges. The victories we win are Narnian victories. But our time in Narnia is not an end in itself. We go there so that we can live better here." (p. 21) Although The Chronicles of Narnia contains layers upon layers of meaning, immersing ourselves in them as stories is pivotal; learning to breathe Narnian air, as Lewis coined the term, means coming to know God. We then discover who we are becoming and take the path that brings us there. Live Like a Narnian helps us recognize what it means to tumble through the wardrobe into a fantastical land, journeying until we come face to face with the wondrous Lion. |

Overview:
The Chronicles of Narnia contains more than mere stories. Beneath the hills of Aslan's country lies spiritual gold. C.S. Lewis penned Narnian tales to speak to us about character, culture, theology, and worldview. Stepping through the wardrobe, readers discover that their hearts and minds move toward transformation into the image of Jesus Christ through fantastic stories.
