Book Summary of Not Forsaken by Louie Giglio

What is the #1 way that God has chosen to present Himself to His people? It isn't as King, although that is important. It isn't as Creator, although that is true. The #1 way that God has presented Himself to His people is as our heavenly Father.

This is important in more ways than we can imagine. We tend to relate to God through the experience we had with our earthly fathers and believe that God is a bigger version of our earthly dads. However, God is not like that.

Instead, He is the perfect version of our earthly fathers. He is what they should have been. He does not suffer from all of the flaws that our earthly dads do. Even the really good dads have flaws and shortcomings, but God does not.

Above all else, our heavenly Father wants a relationship with us and makes a way for that relationship to be a reality. He does all of the hard work in the relationship and still gives us His best.
