On the Road With Saint Augustine
by James K.A. Smith | Book Summary
Author: James K.A. Smith |
Augustine has had an enormous impact on the thinking of modern society. More than that, however, Augustine was a flawed but brilliant man who wrestled with many of life's problems that are common to humanity. Augustine can be a faithful guide on life's long journey. When walking through difficult problems, whether they are intellectual, emotional, or otherwise, having someone who has gone through it before us can be a great comfort and help. That's what Augustine provides. He shows us how to have a real-world spirituality in the face of life's trials. Did you have an absent father or maybe an overbearing mother? Have you wondered why God allows evil to seemingly run rampant in the world? Do you ever feel as if you will never find rest and peace? Augustine did, and through his writings, he showed us how, by the grace of God, he came through it all. |
