Russell Moore is president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention and has served in that role since 2013. In 2017, he was named in Politico Magazine's list of top fifty influence-makers in Washington. Prior to his election Moore taught at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY where he acted as provost and dean. He is currently the Distinguished Professor of Christian Ethics at Southern Seminary as well as a visiting professor of Ethics at Southeastern Theological Seminary and New Orleans Theological Seminary.
Moore has written two books that have been named Christianity Today's Book of the Year: Onward: Engaging the Culture Without Losing the Gospel in 2016 and The Storm-Tossed Family: How the Cross Reshapes the Home in 2018. His other books include: Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches and Tempted and Tried: Temptation and the Triumph of Christ.
He is married to Maria, and they are the parents of five sons.
