Book Summary of Revival by Brian H. Edwards

God still brings revival to His people. This is evidenced in Scripture and the history of the church. Revival is not about a particular meeting or formula, but Christians being saturated with the presence of God.

Studying true revival should "inform the mind and inflame the heart" (p. 24) of Christians so that they long for it themselves and seek the Lord to bring it about in their own hearts and churches. Every generation is in need of revival from God.

By examining the common elements that precede revival, happen during revival, and occur after revival, Christians can better prepare themselves for true Holy Spirit revival. These elements must be examined in light of the Scriptures. These elements can then also be studied historically as God has moved among His people in special ways throughout the history of the church.

There are counterfeit revivals out there, but as Christians study the Scriptures and church history to see what happens in true revival, they can in turn grow in their desire to see God once again saturate His people with His presence in a special way.
