Book Summary of The Gospel-Driven Church by Jared C. Wilson

Many evangelical churches in the United States today have bought into the pragmatism, legalism, and consumerism of the seeker-sensitive or attractional church model. This model focuses on getting unbelievers to come to church and hear the gospel. Even though many are well-meaning, they often use worldly means and methods to accomplish this goal.

The problem with this approach is that what you win someone with is what you win them to. Often these churches lack deep discipleship relationships within the church. A gospel-driven church seeks to place the gospel as central and the Word of God then dictates all of the activities of the church. Ongoing discipleship is a mark of a gospel-driven church rather than the number of visitors or donations that often drive an attractional church.
