The Holy Spirit
by Gregg R. Allison & Andreas J. Köstenberger | Book Summary
Author: Gregg R. Allison & Andreas J. Köstenberger |
Who is the Holy Spirit? How does He relate to the Father and the Son? What does the Spirit do? All of these questions are foundational to our understanding of who God is and what He does. The Holy Spirit is a fully divine person, subsisting in the eternal relationship of procession from the Father and the Son. This divine person, rightly called He, not It, is active in every divine action in a manner consistent with His personhood. The Holy Spirit — Comforter, Advocate, Guide — is poured out in the New Covenant era for the benefit of the church. Without this mighty act of God man would be without salvation, sanctification, and final glorification. For these and other acts of the Spirit He deserves our full worship and thanksgiving.
