Seeing With New Eyes
by David Powlison | Book Summary
Author: David Powlison |
Biblical counseling seeks to look at the problem of the human condition through a biblical lens. When Christian counselors take the Bible seriously, they see the problems and solutions to a person's issues in a new light. Most importantly, they see that the gospel is the ultimate hope for every counseling issue. Often, the issues people are dealing with, at their root, are not ultimately because they are victims of sin, but because they themselves are sinners. Sin lurks deceptively in the human heart and must be illuminated by the light of God's Word. Biblical counselors help counselees see with new eyes as they seek to understand all of life through a biblical framework that causes them to live for the glory of King Jesus in true obedience to His Word. |
